Hot Springs
At Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari, “Ooedo-Onsen” and “Kogane-no-Yu” are baths filled with 100% natural hot-spring water pumped from 1,400 meters underground. Bathing in these waters, composed mainly of sodium and chlorine ions, as well as calcium, magnesium ions and other elements, leaves a film on the skin that is gradually absorbed, which has many healthful effects and makes bathers feel pleasantly warmed. In addition to these two baths, Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari has several other baths to suit all tastes.
Ooedo-Onsen
Ooedo-Onsen is Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari’s namesake bath. Enjoy this bath, brimming with 100% natural hot-spring water, quietly by yourself or chatting with friends as you soak your way to utter relaxation.
Kogane-no-Yu
This new bath was created for customers who want to enjoy bathing in richer water originating closer to the thermal spring source. The amber-colored water, with a consistency reminiscent of molten gold, has excellent warming properties. No one will feel chilled getting out of this bath!
Hyakunin-buro
Hyakunin (lit. “one hundred people”) means just that: this bath is large enough for a hundred people to bathe in at once. A leisurely soak here will help you forget your daily cares.
Kinu-no-Yu
This is a pure-white bath of water activated to create superfine bubbles. The gentle stimulation expands the capillaries on the skin’s surface and the fine vibrations generated when the water bounces against the skin have a massaging effect.
Open-air baths
The open-air baths, surrounded by greenery and natural rock surfaces, are the perfect place to relax and stretch out in comfort. The women’s bath also features a large wooden bathtub.
Foot bath
An artificial carbonated spring fills this 50-meter long pathway through a traditionally landscaped Japanese garden spread over 2,300 square meters. The smooth round stones embedded in the floor of this bath stimulate the soles of the feet, so a stroll through the water here is a great way to relieve fatigue. Men and women can enjoy this bath together, making it all the more enjoyable.
