Plenty of Other Enjoyments and Fun desides Bathing

At Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari, there’s plenty to do besides bathing. Take dining, for example. The 16 restaurants here have something for everyone, in Japanese- or Western-style settings, with menu selections ranging from authentic to casual. The main street, reproducing a typical Edo-style townscape, offers old-time amusements for all such as Japanese-style fortune-telling, quoits, blowgun darts, ninja-knife throwing, etc. And for those who want to really relax, there are Japanese-style full-body and foot massages that are sure to relieve foot, back or shoulder tension and that have fans coming back for more.

Hirokoji

Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari’s main street, with a watchtower decorated with colorful paper lanterns as its focal point, is lined with all kinds of shops and restaurants that serve sushi, sweets, candies, soba noodles, etc. Various events and performances take place here everyday for visitors’ enjoyment.

Kawacho(Japanese-style restaurant)

This Japanese-style restaurant is popular for dishes featuring seasonal ingredients. Pre-selected sets are available at lunch, and diners can choose from an a la carte menu or full-course meals at dinner. Reservations accepted any time for parties.

Sushiya-no-Gen (sushi)

The sushi served here is authentic Edo-style sushi, featuring the best and freshest fish delivered directly from the nearby Tsukiji Fish Market.

Soba(tempura soba)

This restaurant serves several varieties of Japanese soba (buckwheat noodles). One of the most popular dishes on the menu is “Tempura Soba,” which comes accompanied by a generous portion of deep-fried tempura.

Massages

Various types of massage services are available: Foot massage, guaranteed to feel pleasant and relaxing; Japanese-style massage, great for relieving fatigue and easing the kinks out of your muscles; and also Japanese-style beauty treatments and scrub massage.

Souvenir shops

Enjoy shopping at Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari’s three souvenir shops, where you can buy all sorts of items, some of which are only available here. This is a great place to get a souvenir of your visit to Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari or small presents for family and friends back home.
